Sam Bowling is the fifteen year-old organizer of this year's Sisters Standing for Truth retreat. She loves her family, her crafts, and playing the piano and flute. She is very grateful to God for giving her the opportunity and the courage to share her love and excitement for Him with other girls at the retreat. Her favorite Bible verse is 1 John 4:11-12 "Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us."

Amanda Bowling was seven when she realized she was not the queen of the world. (It's been ten years, but she hasn't fully recovered.) Despite this confusing shift in self-perception, she leads a BRIGHT Lights discipleship group for girls, writes middle-grade fiction, and is starting a blog about books for families at Bigsisterbooks.com. When she talks to God she ends up laughing or crying, somtimes both. Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 1:7-8. "But the LORD said to me ' Do not say, I am only a youth; for to all to whom I send you, you will go, and whatever I command you, you shall speak. Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you to deliver you, declares the LORD."
Erin Brown is a recent homschool graduate who has been helping with the Mother/Daughter Retreats (in various aspects) since the beginning. She enjoys acting and photography; her heart's desire is to use both for the glory of the Lord. Her favorite Bible verses are Matthew 11:28-30 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.  Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.  For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Holly Brown is a homeschool student and dedicated Christian. She has been a part of the Sisters Standing for Truth, and has been a speaker for their retreat for several years.  She got into Sisters Standing for Truth retreats in 2013 because it allows her to share her faith and love of Christ Jesus.  Her favorite part of participating in these retreats is getting to know girls and moms who share the same faith as herself. Also, organizing retreats can be really fun!  While she's not doing school or working on the retreat, she likes to read, crochet, and hang out with her family and friends. Her favorite Bible passages are Psalm 23, and the Lord’s Prayer.
Claire Brown is a Christian homschooled student living in Powhatan Country, VA. She has been involved with Sisters Standing for Truth since the beginning. She loves cooking, crafting, singing, and dancing. She has three pets - a cat and two birds. She is really excited to be in Sisters Standing for Truth because, what's better then sharing the gospel with people you love? Her favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11-14, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart. I will be found by you,” declares the Lord.”
Olivia Jacks is a Christian homeschooler living near Roanoke, VA. She has been involved with Sisters Standing for Truth since their beginning, first as an attendee, and then as a speaker and organizer. She has a passion for old English literature, playing piano and flute, crafting, and learning new things. At the retreats, she not only looks forward to going and meeting other girls to share mutual encouragement, but she also loves working on the retreat planning beforehand. Her favorite book is the book of James, and especially James 1:22-25 "But be ye doers of the Word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves...whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein...this man shall be blessed in his deed."
Evelyn Jacks is a homeschooler who enjoys playing outside, reading, crocheting, and playing piano, violin, mandolin, and banjo. She enjoys traveling, and loves babies and children. Someday, she wants to go on a mission trip to help young children in another country. In the meantime, she is ministering at home, and is having fun helping to organize retreats. She appreciates the Mother/Daughter retreat for both its social and spiritual aspects, and she can't wait for this year's retreat! “Pure and undefiled religion before God and the Father is this: to visit orphans and widows in their trouble, and to keep oneself unspotted from the world.” James 1:27
