Sisters Standing For Truth

The Mothers

Carrie Bowling

Although Carrie Bowling is a founding organizer of the Sisters Standing for Truth mother-daughter retreats, she is glad to pass along the responsibility for speaking and organizing to the next generation.  She and her husband, Michael, homeschool their seven children, ages 3 to 16, which gives her a full and interesting life!  She loves Jesus, loves her family, and loves getting together with old friends and new.   One of her favorite Bible passages is Deuteronomy 6:6-7, “These commandments that I give you today are to be on your hearts.   Impress them on your children.  Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up.”

Crickett Brown

Crickett Brown is a wife and mother living in Powhatan, VA. She and her husband, Michael, have been married for 25 years (as of October 2017). They are the parents of 5 children here on earth – 4 daughters and 1 son. Through becoming a mother, God totally reworked her heart & her priorities. And, now seeing her own daughters reach adulthood, she has realized she has become an “older woman (Titus 2:3-5) – when did this happen?! Crickett enjoys spending time with her family and friends, as well as reading, studying, & learning new things, being outside & hiking, and going on adventures (some of these things she does more frequently than others!). One of her favorite Bible passages is Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

Amy Jacks

Amy is thankful to God for her mom and other Godly women He has put in her life.  Through seasons of marriage and motherhood, the Lord has used sisters in Christ to point her to Jesus.  Her involvement with Sisters Standing for Truth has allowed her to take what she’s learned from older, wiser women and encourage and equip her daughters and other mothers/daughters in truth through retreats and small group fellowship.  She is blessed by her funny, extroverted, Godly, leader husband.  She and Brian have been married for 20 years and together they homeschool their eight children ages 2-16 in the beautiful Blue Ridge mountains near Roanoke, VA.  She is passionate about knowing Jesus more fully and investing in the lives of other ladies of all ages so that the body of Christ can grow as adorned women of God. “…that they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior in all things.”  Titus 2:10
